Fiberglass Wonderland

June 23: Black River Crossing Oasis | Black River Falls, WI

Overnight, I stayed at Rest Area 54 in Black River Falls, which was actually absolutely beautiful. While taking Lincoln for his walk, I found there was a scenic trail that we walked on for about 15m before heading back. It wasn’t until after I left, that I found out if we had kept on walking, there’s a scenic overlook at the end of the trail. So now I have to go back!

Afterwards, right around the corner in Black River Crossing Oasis, there’s a peculiar collection of fiberglass animals that includes not one, but two bright orange moose. One is of normal size, and the other is ridiculously huge. Giant even. Quite a sight!

June 23-24: Willow Landing | Hudson, WI

I was really wearing thin from all the driving… every day on the road, and even though I was at Bonnaroo for a week, its not like I was chilling. I needed a break from constantly being on the move, and found a spot in Hudson to relax for a couple of nights.

Hudson is such a cute and charming place, pretty small but woah some gorgeous houses, and the people I met were all so friendly. I stayed in a lot right on the Willow River, with boat ramps and a scenic walking path. Lots of people came through to go fishing, so it was somewhat busy during the day, but nighttime was super quiet. I’d love to come back to Hudson, and check it out some more sometime. It was such a nice surprise find, and it just felt really good being there.
