Insulated Window Covers

The problem: Single pane windows are cold! And the stock shades that come on my Roadtrek did not do anything to help with that! They’ve also seen better days, understandable since this van is quite a few years old. Other issues are, the van comes with curtains for the rear and sliding door, but I can’t slide the rear curtains without opening the backdoor first, plus the sliding door curtain kept getting hooked on screws in the tracks. There was also a set of curtains for the cab doors, but I could not figure out how to get them up. The previous owner removed the stock windshield shade, thank goodness, because it is blah lol They replaced it with a Reflectix shade, but it was too small to fit well.

The solution! I got VanEssential magnetic insulated window covers for the cab, sliding door and rear doors. They simply snap into place magnetically, and they fold up in place, so they don’t take up any storage space when Im not using them. The side windows are a unique size, so I needed to make my own. I ended up buying a really cheap insulated fireplace cover and cut in half it was the perfect size for the two biggest windows. I straightened out wire hangers, then slid them into the sides to reinforce and hold them into place in the windows. I like them!

BONUS! While cleaning out the over cab storage, I found a bag that had VanEssential bug screens in it! I was debating whether or not to buy a set when I got my window covers, but due to cost, decided to hold off. So glad I did! I was super excited to find out I already have them! My van windows all come with slide in bug screens, so I’m good to go now!
