Today, Ski and I stopped in Weed, CA a little city, that has quite a bit of fun with the play on its own name. It was so cool and surreal to park, use the bathroom and make lunch…all from my RV! Afterwards, we took a little walk over to the Enjoy Weed Shack, where I picked up my very first pin for my RV travel collection!
Today, we were hoping to visit the Oregon Vortex, but unfortunately it was closed! So, instead once we got to Medford, OR, we stopped at Walmart where I picked up a few things. I still could not get the hot water working, and new problem, the shower floor was wet after every drive! So I bought a plug for the shower drain, made lunch then hung out in the van while Ski browsed and shopped. Afterwards, I dropped Ski off at the airport so he could get to work in the morning, and my solo journey began!
My next stop was to Manzanita Rest Area in Grants Pass, OR for the night. I was mentally prepared for a sketchy spot off a highway. This was not that! It was actually very nice, with a park and veterans memorial…and I got to see an incredible sunset with a view of the mountains. I got there pretty early, since I planned to always stop driving by sunset at 5p since I didn’t want to drive after dark. As the night went on, more cars and also RVs parked for the night as well.
Now that I had cell connection, did some searching to see if I can solve the hot water issue. Turns out, there’s a switch on the outside, AND an interior panel I never noticed before, with a thermostat with a power button. Fired that up and…YaY! Hot water for my birthday!! Felt pretty good about that! 🥳
